This Winter, Help Us Keep the Horses Fed and Dry
Pisim is expecting a foal in late winter. We lost a foal to a late spring snowstorm, and we are determined to keep her and her baby safe and dry. This winter we need $5,150 for hay ($2,400 remaining), a skid steer to move the bales ($800 to rent for the day), roof metal to finish the horse shelter ($1,500), and tarps and straps to protect the bales ($450).
Help Us Build the Camp
We are raising $40,000 for the materials to build three gathering places on the land at Wâsakâm. Volunteers will do the building, so every dollar goes to lumber, roofing, and hardware. We’re fundraising now through March and building in the spring, so camps can begin in the summer.
The Camp Kitchen
A place to cook and feed people during our events, and a place to teach food sovereignty skills.
The Covered Shelter
A place to learn land-based skills and tan hides, and where the horses can spend time with participants.
The Healing Lodge
A warm indoor space where people can learn, take part in ceremony, and find support in healing. It will also let us hold camps in every season.
